Fall Riverside Wedding | Mallory & Daniel

Fall Riverside Wedding | Mallory & Daniel

Mallory and Daniel’s September Snowmass Cottages wedding last weekend was the prefect representation of their personalities, style and love for Colorado. Daniel enjoys fly fishing and the two of them fell in love with the venue after spending so much time in the area. It has been a busy seven months for Mallory’s parents Richard and Janice as they watched all three of their daughters get married in 2017. During his opening remarks, Richard made sure to note that his only reservation about the cottages was that it was “quite a schlep” from Denver (and the East coast) but after seeing the whole day come together he felt nothing but joy. I knew that their wedding would be fantastic to experience and photograph because their…

Chicago Loft Wedding | David & Emmet

Chicago Loft Wedding | David & Emmet

Earlier this summer I traveled to the Windy City for David and Emmet’s Chicago Loft Wedding at the Bridgeport Art Center’s Skyline Loft. Working alongside Chicago Wedding Photographer Travis, we’ve photographed several of the loft venues in the city and Bridgeport is among our favorite. Typically we start separately but since David and Emmet got dressed together it was a team effort from the start. The room was fool of energy as their sisters joined them to help put the finishing touches on their looks and celebrate with a bottle of champagne. There obviously wasn’t a first look so we all jumped into a SUV and drove to a couple different locations for portraits with the two of them. We all had a lot of…

Fort Collins Wedding | Courtney and Noah

Fort Collins Wedding | Courtney and Noah

Last Saturday I was fortunate enough to photograph Courtney and Noah’s Fort Collins wedding. From the moment that I met with them last fall I knew that it would be a great day because they each appreciated photography so much and provided me the trust that I need to make great pictures. The energy was high from the moment that I walked into the room with Courtney and her “Brosmaids” as they listened to Janet Jackson’s greatest hits on blast while dancing non-stop, only stopping for the obligatory hair and makeup process. Noah on the other hand was calm and collected next door while Travis photographed him and the rest of the guys getting ready. We all made our way to the Spring Creek Trail…

Best wedding photos from 2016

Best wedding photos from 2016

Wow, what a year it was. I’m excited that I get to share with you my best wedding photos from 2016. The end of the year is the perfect time to reflect on everything that I witnessed, experienced and photographed throughout the season. As part of that process, I have narrowed it down to the best 55 images that you see above. It was an agonizing process to select my best wedding photos from 2016 because I was fortunate to work with some amazing couples in breathtaking locations throughout the year. Without the trust of my clients, none these images are possible. During the year I photographed a couple from a canoe on a mountain lake piloted by a coordinator, mounted a remote camera to…

Rembrandt Yard fall wedding | Megan and Bryan | Boulder

Rembrandt Yard fall wedding | Megan and Bryan | Boulder

Megan and Bryan’s Rembrandt Yard fall wedding was the perfect culmination of their relationship because after meeting many years ago at the University of Colorado in Boulder they returned to where it all began to make things official. Surrounded by friends and family from around the country and beyond, they shared their vows together in front of a thousand hand folded paper cranes with the Flatirons visible through the huge picture windows on the third floor of Rembrandt Yard. I knew what to expect at this fantastic space because I photographer another wedding at Rembrandt Yard wedding earlier this season. When I met with them earlier this year for the first time I knew that they would be one of my favorite couples of the year because they…

Mountain Wedding near Vail, CO | Becky and Brian

Mountain Wedding near Vail, CO | Becky and Brian

Last week after photographing the Denver Broncos season opener I made the drive west up I-70 with Travis to Vail for Becky and Brian’s Piney River Ranch wedding. The next morning Mother Nature greeted us with blue skies on our walk through Vail Village over to The Lodge at Vail where both wedding parties were getting ready. The ladies had a great view of the mountain while they did hair and makeup. Travis was with the guys a floor below for most of the morning but called me down to help give a bow tie lesson since they were having some trouble. Piney River Ranch is almost an hour up a bumpy dirt road from the village but thankfully the view doesn’t disappoint. Our state…

Jewish Wedding in Colorado Springs | Devan & Joshua

Jewish Wedding in Colorado Springs | Devan & Joshua

I was so excited to photograph Devan and Joshua’s Garden of the Gods Resort wedding in Colorado Springs last week because the setting screams Colorado. As a Denver native I know how beautiful our state is but many of their families traveled from great distances and didn’t know the treat that was in store for them. Devan is from New Jersey and Joshua’s family resides in Chicago and Indianapolis but they even had family travel from as far as Africa to be at the ceremony. That alone tells you how close they are with their families. Both the gentleman and ladies got ready at the Colorado Springs Marriott just up the road from Garden of the Gods club and while I photographed Devan, her sisters…

Galleria Marchetti wedding | Chicago | Erin & Chris

Galleria Marchetti wedding | Chicago | Erin & Chris

I traveled out to Chicago for Erin and Chris’ Galleria Marchetti wedding in June for their wonderfully quaint morning ceremony and brunch reception. Galleria Marchetti is a hidden gem in the River West neighborhood and you would have no idea that it’s so close to the highway because of the all of the trees that hide the property from the surrounding area. As a Colorado wedding photojournalist I’m spoiled with all of the outdoor ceremony locations that I get to work throughout the busy wedding season so it was a treat to photograph Erin and Chris’ ceremony outside under the arbor. The sunlight poured in through the tops of the trees and it created a great feel for their first kiss as husband and wife….

Bottom Lounge wedding | Chicago | Katie & Chris

Bottom Lounge wedding | Chicago | Katie & Chris

Earlier this summer I traveled out to Chicago for Katie and Chris’ Bottom Lounge wedding. I started the day with Chris and his groomsmen at the couple’s home before we spent the rest of the day at Bottom Lounge in the west loop for the ceremony and reception. The above image was one of my favorites from the day because it really captured the essence of the venue. It’s a concert hall and bar most of the time so I wanted to highlight the feel that you get after spending a night partying and listening to great music. The aluminum tabletops created the perfect reflection to take the frame up a notch. Make sure you check out more of their day at Wasabi Photography.

Rembrandt Yard wedding | Boulder | Liz & Sean

Rembrandt Yard wedding | Boulder | Liz & Sean

It was nothing but smooth sailing for Liz and Sean’s Rembrandt Yard wedding in Boulder last weekend. Everyone was on time, the light was a spectacle, moments were plentiful and most importantly their loved shined through. I spent several hours with Liz, her mother and soon to be in-laws as they got ready at Rembrandt yard. While they shared hilarious stories together and allowed the moms to do what mothers do best, I was around to document it all. Dan was with Sean and his father down the street at the St. Julien where I can promise the beer was cold and the conversation surrounded Ireland’s chances in the ongoing European Soccer Championships. They opted to forgo a first look and instead wait to see…
