Arapahoe Basin’s Black Mountain Lodge is a Colorado mountainside wedding venue accessable by chair lift at 11,500′ that can accomodate up to 200 guests.

Black Mountain Lodge features vaulted timber cielings and huge windows that look out to the surrounding mountains. The attached ceremony deck allows for a seamless transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to indoor reception.

Everyone accesses the venue via the Black Mountain Express chairlift which takes seven minutes from bottom to top. Lift access is available for the entirety of your five hour event. Louise Ivers and her team at A Basin will help coordinate your entire day so everything runs smoothly. Unlike many venues that simply provide someone from the venue to turn on the lights and direct vendors, Louise will be involved with you from the moment you start your planning to the moment you ride the chairlift down at the end of your wedding day.

You will be hard pressed to find a better mid-mountain wedding experience for the cost anywhere. The food is outstanding, the venue is spacious and the views are hard to beat.

Site fee $7,000. F&B mins, $10,000 Mon-Thurs, $15,000 Friday and Sunday, $18,000 Saturday and Labor Day & July 4th weekend + tax and 22% service charge. Packages includes 5 hours.

Average cost is $145-$165 per person for food and beverage for 2023.

The site fee includes use of the lift, white chairs, tables, linens, dinnerware, flatware and glassware.

Winter ceremony rates (Dec-April) are $500 for 1 hour + lift tickets. 50 people max.

Guests park at the base of the mountain before taking the chairlift to Black Mountain Lodge for the mid-mountain ceremony. Parking at the venue is plentiful.

A first look atop Loveland Pass is a must for anyone getting married at A Basin. We'll be able to capture some spectacular photos that you won't have time for after the ceremony. I have a few secret locations nearby that aren't difficult to get to that I'd love to share with you.

WHY WE LOVE IT

This venue has all the things you desire in a mountainside venue without the obnoxious sticker price. Louise and the team at A Basin treat you like family and will go out of their way to create a great guest experience, trust me I've seen it. I have done hundreds of weddings and hands down the best meal I've ever had was at a wedding at A Basin. From a photography perspective it's an excellent venue because the mountains are just steps away.
Pro Tip: Schedule some time for a sunset chairlift ride and a few portraits with your new spouse after dinner. The alpenglow hits the peaks of the East Wall and makes for some spectacular photos.
