When I met Katie and Joel last fall we ended up cracking open one of my favorite beers, Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout, out of my cellar which is always a good sign. We naturally met up at a brewery to catch up before starting their spring engagement in downtown Denver. They’re new to Denver and open to whatever so I suggested that we have a pint at Ratio Brewing in RiNo since the area has lots of colorful backdrops for the start of the day.
After walking a few blocks around the neighborhood we drove over to my place so they could change and I opened up a couple more tasty beers for all of us to share. I’ve lived in LoDo for the past six years which is perfect because so many couples want photos in the area. I’ve photographed in and around Union Station several times as a result. We ventured over to the bridge on Wynkoop for a few frames before changing outfits once again.
We walked to Union Station and arrived at blue hour which made for some fantastic images and then explored the brand new Dairy Block. It’s a fantastic new development in the heart of LoDo that features a hotel, restaurants and shopping.
Katie and Joel are getting married on the south side of Chicago, her hometown, later this summer and I’m looking forward to flying out to shoot the wedding. I had a blast during their spring engagement session in Denver so I know the wedding day is going to be quite the treat.
