Heather and Matt’s wedding at TenMile Station in Breckenridge was as ideal of a Colorado celebration as you can get. I love shooting in the mountains and TenMile is definitely one of my favorite venues.
As is often the case, Travis was in town to shoot this wedding with me. We both started the day at One Ski Hill Place at the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 8. The ladies had an enormous suite overlooking the mountain and while I spent time with them, Travis was with Matt and the guys getting ready and having a beer in The Living Room.
Since there was an obstacle race going on the day of their wedding we opted to do first look at nearby. Matt and Heather had scouted locations a couple days prior and the spot we chose ended up being a perfect location. They fell in love on the gondola at Breck so it was only fitting that it was in the background of the photos. It was a great piece to their love story puzzle.
The energy from the ceremony was so high and everyone was laughing from the moment that Heather and her father walked down the aisle. They stopped midway down the aisle so he could take a selfie which was a first for me. Their vows were incredibly memorable and my favorite part came when Heather thanked her father for teaching her to ski as a way to jab Matt since she’s faster than him on the slopes.
The comedic moments didn’t stop there. The toasts had everyone in the room gasping for air because they were so witty. Weddings are always a joyous occasion but this one seemed to take the energy up one more level and it was great to photograph all the moments throughout the day.
Michelle and Nicole from Petal and Bean not only did an amazing job with the florals but they were incredibly helpful throughout the day. Michelle even held a light for me during the twilight portrait. I love when everyone works as a team on the wedding day to create the best possible experience for the couple and guests.
It’s safe to say that I won’t be forgetting about this wedding anytime soon. Congratulations Heather and Matt. It was a pleasure to be able to photograph your wedding at TenMile Station.
