Breckenridge Boreas Pass wedding | Heidi & Frank

Frank and Heidi live in Minnesota’s Twin Cities and wanted a change of scenery for their special day and decided to have a Breckenridge Boreas Pass wedding with all their family and friends. Can you blame them?

As a Colorado native I’m completely aware of how beautiful the state is but I hadn’t experienced the top of Boreas Pass until I Trent asked me to help document their wedding day. After the ceremony downtown we ventured up the dirt road on Boreas Pass despite the cold, windy conditions in search of the perfect Colorado backdrop. Heidi’s face lit up when we asked if she would be willing to climb on top of the deserted box car at the top of the mountain. Shortly after they climbed up there the clouds parted and the sun showed its face in true Colorado fashion.

On our way down the mountain we found a screaming pocket of light shining on some of the final fall color of the season.

If you’ve never seen the Gore Range from Piney Lake, it should be on your Colorado bucket list. For that reason alone, I was excited when Caroline and Brendan asked me to shoot their fall Piney Lake engagement in Vail. Located about 40 minutes North of the town of Vail up a logging road, it may be a bumpy ride but the view alone is worth the adventure. I haven’t been back since I photographed this wedding at the ranch and fall is the perfect time to visit. Caroline and Brendan are getting married out of state and since they love the mountains and water, we knew this would be an ideal location for their engagement photos. We shared a beer on the deck before venturing…

  • Winter engagement in Breckenridge | Cassidy and Shane

Ever since Cassidy and Shane got engaged on an island in the Pacific they have been looking forward to photos in the mountains. After looking through my engagement location guide, they thought that a winter engagement in Breckenridge would be exactly what they wanted. We met up at Breckenridge Brewery for a drink to get to know each other before the session. I had a wonderful time chatting with them about a multitude of things before we drove up to Sawmill Reservoir to start their session. Breckenridge resort had their snowiest February on record so it was a little tough hiking through all the fresh snowfall but it was gorgeous and quiet so we couldn’t complain. After the sun started to dip we made the…
