Fall Frisco Engagement | Julia & Micah

In a rare showing, Julia and Micah’s fall Frisco engagement featured gorgeous fall colors and a snowy winter wonderland atop Shrine Pass. They’re both in grad school in Nashville and traveled out to Colorado for their session so I’m glad that the weather worked out. It’s not often that a session has two completely different feels but theirs definitely did. We met up in Frisco before venturing over to a few locations that had the last remaining golden aspen trees in the area.

Our next stop required all wheel drive so they hopped in my car for the journey up Shrine Pass near Vail. The area was recently blanketed by the first major snow of the season but that didn’t stop them from embracing the elements. We squeezed every bit of remaining sunlight out of the session before it disappeared behind the snow covered evergreen trees. It’s not often that I get to photograph two seasons in the same day which is why I won’t forget their fall Frisco engagement anytime soon.

The weather and fall color in the mountains is often unpredictable so it wasn’t surprising that we were rained out of our first attempt for their session. Despite more finicky weather on our second attempt, in true Colorado fashion, we experienced nearly all four seasons in one day for Holly and Hayden’s fall mountain engagement photos. Shooting during the fall colors season in the Colorado high country is my favorite so I’m glad that everything worked out for us. I had been paying attention to the fall foliage map since the color changed earlier this year because the mountains experienced a drought last winter. We met up at Outer Range Brewing for a beer before venturing over to a nearby aspen grove that was in…

  • Willow Ridge Manor wedding | Gina & Blake

Gina and Blake’s Willow Ridge Manor wedding was the perfect low key affair and I’m glad that Travis and myself were able to be apart of it. You don’t need to do much when you get married in Morrison at the edge of the foothills. The scenery is amazing in that part of town so it’s easy to see why they chose to get married at Willow Ridge Manor. Blake and Gina arrived nearly ready to go and only needed a few quick adjustments before saying I do. Despite it being their special day, they wanted their guests to have a great time. We only had to jaunt across the street for a few portraits so that they could be back quickly to enjoy happy…
