Snowy Winter Mountain Engagement | Grace & David

Earlier this month I ventured up to Rocky Mountain National Park for meet Grace and David for their engagement session. They have spent lots of time in the park so it was a sentimental choice to spend the day there. It’s a huge place so David suggested meeting at Bear Lake and doing some hiking in search of great vantage points. Were having an unusually wet spring here and the area had just received a fresh snowfall which made for some gorgeous scenery.

We started the session at Bear Lake before making the challenging and slippery ascent up to a lookout above Nymph Lake. The hard-packed snowy and icy trail forced us to move slowly but we managed to climb to some great places as the sun went down.

I’m looking forward to their wedding later this fall at Arapahoe Basin!

Last weekend I met Melissa and Jordan near her hometown of Evergreen for their Elk Meadow Park winter engagement. We grabbed a quick drink over at Evergreen Brewery before driving across the street to the park. Despite the cold and windy conditions we had a blast tromping around in the snow before the sun fell behind the mountain. Jordan enjoys hunting this time of the year so he was accustomed to the chilly temperatures. It was a gorgeous area so I can see Melissa was keen to shoot in familiar surroundings. These two have an adorable connection together and once you spend some time with them you can see how well they compliment each other. Melissa’s outgoing personality is infectious and definitely rubs off on him. Jordan and…

  • Winter Brainard Lake Engagement | Meagan & Aaron

It was quite cold and snowy for Meagan and Aaron’s winter Brainard Lake engagement session but that didn’t stop them from having fun together. The winter months in Colorado can be unpredictable so I was glad we didn’t encounter adverse conditions in the mountains. I met up with Aaron and Meagan down in Nederland for a drink at James Peak before venturing up to Brainard Lake Recreation Area. Despite the six inches of snow on the ground, they both had no problem tromping around in search of the best spots. After spending 20 minutes or so near the parking lot, we hiked up the service road to the Red Rock lake. There wasn’t anyone around but us and the freshly snow covered ice created a…
