Summer Engagement in Evergreen | Meaghan & Matthew

This week I met up with Meaghan and Matthew for their summer engagement in Evergreen. We started their session by hiking up to Maxwell Falls. Thankfully the spring runoff wasn’t out of control and we were able to climb right up to the waterfall. Meaghan didn’t think twice when I asked her to put her feet in the ice cold water. The rain held off until we got back to the car for a quick change before drizzling on us the the better part of an hour. The sun finally came out and we were treated to a faint rainbow over the ridge.

Matthew and Meaghan were so cute during the session that I hardly had to give them direction. It’s a treat to work with couples like them who are so comfortable together in front of the camera.

They had a great time together hiking in a grove of young evergreen trees before we drove down the hill to Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. Thanks to all of the snow and rain that we received the mountains and foothills are lush and green. The storm clouds created a dramatic backdrop for the end of the session. I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding later this summer.

  • Evergreen Engagement | Hannah & James

Hannah and James are fellow Colorado natives and love the outdoors so I was excited that they wanted to venture to a couple of new locations for their Evergreen engagement session. We met up at the Maxwell Falls trailhead, enjoyed some Jack and Cokes (their favorite) and played with their new Australian Shepard puppy Rey. She was having a blast tromping in the snow and even managed to sit still for a couple photos which wasn’t an easy task. James’ mother took the dog with her back to the city so that Hannah, James and I could continue searching out interesting locations and pockets of light in the forest. The trail was a little to muddy to make it all the way to the falls…

  • Fall Evergreen Engagement | Jennifer & Stefan

Last week we snuck in Jennifer and Stefan’s fall Evergreen engagement photos on one of the last warm days of the year. I’m not sure I could have more fun during an engagement session than I did with these two. Like myself, Jennifer and Stefan are both Colorado natives. We spent most of the afternoon talking about everything from how things have changed around here to our families. I met them at Evergreen Lake where we spent the first part of the afternoon. It was a gorgeous, bluebird day and the lack of people around created a serene environment. Later on we drove a couple minutes up the road to Alderfer/Three Sister’s Park. This area is fantastic when the light is as good as it…
