Things typically slow down this time of the year so it was a nice change of pace to meet up with Amanda and Weston for their winter mountaintop engagement on Loveland Pass. It was a quintessential bluebird day with gorgeous light so we couldn’t have asked for much more. We explored the west side of the pass for a bit and did our best not to get stuck in any of the snow drifts. Once the light started to fall behind the ridge we moved over to the east side.
They were so easy going that it made my job easy. I kept chasing different pockets of light and they’re no stranger to the mountains and altitude so we were able to capture a variety of scenes in a short time. It can be chilly on the pass so moving around helped us from getting too cold.
After we finished their session up we met over at 6th Alley Bar for a beer and caught up with all their wedding planning. They’re getting married at Arapahoe Basin next fall and the venue was also hosting their wedding tasting for all the couples this year so we could kill two birds with one stone. An exceptional dinner and getting to ride the chairlift under a full moon in calm conditions was such a special way to cap off a fantastic day.
