Winter engagement in Breckenridge | Cassidy and Shane

Ever since Cassidy and Shane got engaged on an island in the Pacific they have been looking forward to photos in the mountains. After looking through my engagement location guide, they thought that a winter engagement in Breckenridge would be exactly what they wanted. We met up at Breckenridge Brewery for a drink to get to know each other before the session. I had a wonderful time chatting with them about a multitude of things before we drove up to Sawmill Reservoir to start their session. Breckenridge resort had their snowiest February on record so it was a little tough hiking through all the fresh snowfall but it was gorgeous and quiet so we couldn’t complain.

After the sun started to dip we made the drive through town and up to the parking lot along Boreas Pass road. It’s a bit more challenging of a location in the winter because you have to hike in to access the best locations but once you arrive it’s all worth it. We made it to one of my favorites places to shoot, Rocky Point, just before the sun dipped behind the mountains for the day. It was quite cold once the sun disappeared so we headed back to the car for one final outfit change. As twilight set in we hiked a short way back up the road to capture some lit photos in the peaceful environment. Just as we were finishing up, a skier came down the trail and it made for an unexpected engagement photo.

It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with Cassidy and Shane capturing some quintessential Colorado photos during their winter engagement in Breckenridge.

I recently met up with Joseph and Chloe for their colorful Breckenridge engagement session. We started at Sawmill Reservoir where we were treated to chilly temps but gorgeous bluebird skies. Our next stop took us to Rocky Point along Boreas Pass Road. The wind was so fierce that it nearly blew my hat down the side of the mountain. The light was fantastic so we battled the tough conditions for as long as we could. I had a feeling that the sunset would be spectacular so we drove down the mountain to the Breckenridge Sawmill Museum for a different perspective. Mother Nature didn’t disappoint with an absolute fire sky. By the time we finished I couldn’t feel my hands but the resulting photo was definitely…

  • Winter Wonderland Engagement in Breckenridge | Kooper & Raul

I had an absolute blast freezing with these two for their winter wonderland engagement in Breckenridge recently. Even in the chill weather their energy was high and encouraging. A few days prior I photographed their rooftop in proposal in Denver. They were in town for vacation and Kooper had no idea how exciting the couple of days would actually be. The snow moved in to Breck the day of their session and thankfully the town was pretty quiet on a Monday afternoon. We walked around in downtown and explored some different scenes before heading up the mountain to Boreas Pass Road. Getting both snow and sun was a treat. It truly felt like the wonderland that Breckenridge can be. As the sun set we stuck…
