Winter Elopement in Estes Park | Michell & Mikhail

When Michell and Mikhail contacted me about their winter elopement in Estes Park I was excited because I knew how much they would enjoy the beauty that Colorado has to offer. I enjoy sharing the state with couples who travel in for their special day. I met them at The Stanley Hotel in Estes for a quick photo before we drove up to Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park for their elopement ceremony.

I loved the laughter, love and emotion that they shared with each other. Their vows rang incredibly true to their commitment to one another. The moment was raw and real. I was a joy to be able to not only capture those moments but also be a witness to their day.

After their winter elopement ceremony we explored around Sprague Lake, making portraits along the way. I made it a point for us to stop in the valley on our way out of the park and I’m glad that we did. The overcast skies parted just enough to see the mountain range in the background.

Congratulations on a wonderful elopement you two, it was a pleasure!

I recently met up with Beth and Riley who were in town visiting Estes Park. Riley proposed a short time ago so it was the perfect opportunity to capture their engagement photos while they were here. Naturally, we ventured into Rocky Mountain National Park in search of a few gorgeous locations. We made stops at a lush aspen grove and gorgeous waterfall before finishing the day in the meadow as the sun set behind the mountains. The wildfire smoke is never a welcome sight but it did highlight the different layers of the mountains in the valley. It was a pleasure to spend a few hours getting to know these two and making a few photos along the way.

  • Snowy Winter Mountain Engagement | Grace & David

Earlier this month I ventured up to Rocky Mountain National Park for meet Grace and David for their engagement session. They have spent lots of time in the park so it was a sentimental choice to spend the day there. It’s a huge place so David suggested meeting at Bear Lake and doing some hiking in search of great vantage points. Were having an unusually wet spring here and the area had just received a fresh snowfall which made for some gorgeous scenery. We started the session at Bear Lake before making the challenging and slippery ascent up to a lookout above Nymph Lake. The hard-packed snowy and icy trail forced us to move slowly but we managed to climb to some great places as…
