It was quite cold and snowy for Meagan and Aaron’s winter Brainard Lake engagement session but that didn’t stop them from having fun together. The winter months in Colorado can be unpredictable so I was glad we didn’t encounter adverse conditions in the mountains. I met up with Aaron and Meagan down in Nederland for a drink at James Peak before venturing up to Brainard Lake Recreation Area.

Despite the six inches of snow on the ground, they both had no problem tromping around in search of the best spots. After spending 20 minutes or so near the parking lot, we hiked up the service road to the Red Rock lake. There wasn’t anyone around but us and the freshly snow covered ice created a gorgeous winter wonderland engagement session.

I’m looking forward to their wedding this summer at one of my favorite venues in Summit County, TenMile Station.
