Valentine’s Day Proposal in Denver | Willy & Kelly

Willy went to great lengths to make sure that this was a day that Kelly will never forget. On the coldest day of the year, I bundled up and ventured out in the sub-zero temperatures to capture this Valentine’s Day proposal in Denver. Not only did Will make sure that I was there to document it all but he even hired an acoustic guitarist to play a few songs and included their parents to help setup and celebrate.

Kelly thought she was headed to drinks at Union Station but when she saw the setup on the top of the Denver Millennium Bridge she had a feeling it was something more. They had a touching conversation before he knelt down and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes.

The raw emotion of a proposal is something quite magical. I live to document life’s big and small moments but these are truly some of my favorite.

Their parents soon surprised them from behind the bushes and Kelly was easily one of the happiest people I’ve ever seen. Willy exhaled and smiled.

We made a few quick photos in the frigid temps before heading back to the apartment where a guitarist played some of her favorite songs and they all celebrated. It was a joy to be part of this life changing moment for them both. I can’t wait to capture more incredible moments with you and your families soon. Congratulations Willy and Kelly!

Chris and I had mutual friends in high school and we’re sure we had a beverage or two together at some point so it made sense to start their Jefferson Park engagement at a brewery. Angie and Chris live in the up and coming neighborhood which features a couple of great restaurants as well as Briar Common Brewery, where we started. We chatted over a couple of hoppy beers outside in the sunlight and it was so good that we almost ordered a second round. They live just down the street so we walked over to pick up their cattle dog mix, Ella. She tried her best to contain her excitement in front of the camera but couldn’t help it. Part of me thinks she knew exactly how…

  • Spring Engagement in Downtown Denver | Katie & Joel

When I met Katie and Joel last fall we ended up cracking open one of my favorite beers, Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout, out of my cellar which is always a good sign. We naturally met up at a brewery to catch up before starting their spring engagement in downtown Denver. They’re new to Denver and open to whatever so I suggested that we have a pint at Ratio Brewing in RiNo since the area has lots of colorful backdrops for the start of the day. After walking a few blocks around the neighborhood we drove over to my place so they could change and I opened up a couple more tasty beers for all of us to share. I’ve lived in LoDo for the past six years which…
