I had a great time getting to know Cassy and David during their sunset engagement in Frisco. They’re currently living on the East Coast but we were able to get together while they were in town doing some wedding planning.

Our first stop took us over to Officers Gulch in Frisco which always offers a good mix of water and wilderness. We even found the last bit of wildflowers in bloom for the season. After an outfit change we drove up to Shrine Pass and were treated to some epic light. The sun was screaming through the clouds and we took advantage of it. The cotton candy sunset capped off a perfect evening with these two.

I’m looking forward to their wedding at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House later this winter.

In a rare showing, Julia and Micah’s fall Frisco engagement featured gorgeous fall colors and a snowy winter wonderland atop Shrine Pass. They’re both in grad school in Nashville and traveled out to Colorado for their session so I’m glad that the weather worked out. It’s not often that a session has two completely different feels but theirs definitely did. We met up in Frisco before venturing over to a few locations that had the last remaining golden aspen trees in the area. The weather and fall color in the mountains is often unpredictable so it wasn’t surprising that we were rained out of our first attempt for their session. Despite more finicky weather on our second attempt, in true Colorado fashion, we experienced nearly all four seasons in one day for Holly and Hayden’s fall mountain engagement photos. Shooting during the fall colors season in the Colorado high country is my favorite so I’m glad that everything worked out for us.
