Casey and Darren are two incredible people. From the moment we began chatting about their wedding plans I knew that they would be wonderful to work with. Since they live in Austin and because of the pandemic, most of our communication was remote but thorough. Like myself, Casey is detail oriented. Our conversations ranged from rescheduling their wedding, twice, to the color of the bridesmaid dresses and so much more minutia in between. I finally had the chance to meet them in person for their fall colors engagement in Summit County last September. Darren is the kind of genuine guy who looks you in the eye when he shakes your hand but doesn’t take his everyday life too seriously.

Two rescheduled wedding dates later, their summer wedding in Sedalia at Sanctuary Golf Course finally arrived last month. Casey’s mom greeted Travis and I when we arrived and warned us that the air conditioning in the rental house wasn’t working. It wasn’t ideal on a hot Colorado day but that didn’t affect the mood of anyone there. If I had to help get my parents or future in-laws into the country for the wedding via Jamaica and a call to the state department (true story) I probably wouldn’t care about broken A/C either. Casey and the ladies sang and danced through prep while Darren and the guys enjoyed some time in the pool house.

Everyone was cool, calm and collected until the moment Casey walked down the aisle. It’s easy to tell how amazing they each are purely by the volume of tears and laughter during their ceremony. They have each excelled at the highest levels as individuals in academics and their careers to the point that it’s almost unfair that they’re a couple. They care more than most and that made this wedding truly special to capture.

The moments were plentiful, the stories were unforgettable and the dance floor was never empty. What more can you ask for?

Most couples sprint out to the car during their grand exit but Casey and Darren slowly walked, waved and acknowledged what felt like everyone there. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.

Casey and Darren, I thank you for allowing us to be part of a timeless event that will be hard to forget. It was a pleasure to meet your friends and families. I know it was a long wait for this day but it was well worth it.
