Family means everything to me so I was honored when my fianceé Amy’s cousin, Sienna, asked me to photograph her and Jacob’s summer Emerson Fields wedding. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not a fan of hot and humid conditions but that wasn’t going to stop me from traveling to Excello, Missouri for their big day. Sienna went to grad school here in Colorado so we’ve got to know each other pretty well over many hazy IPAs. It has been a pleasure to provide any insight that I can as she and Jacob planned what turned out to be a banger.
From the moment I walked in the room I knew it was going to be a good day. All of the ladies were full of energy and their playlist was one of the strongest in recent memory. They had an absolute blast together in the bridal suite and I’m glad that I could be there to capture it. While the ladies were upstairs, Travis documented Jacob and the rest of the groomsmen getting ready downstairs. I loved seeing Jacob’s reaction to the boudoir images that Sienna had taken and presented in a retro viewfinder.
I’ll never forget the feeling in the room when Sienna got to talk with her grandparents over FaceTime that Amy set up. They’re a big part of all of our lives but unfortunately they were not able to travel to Missouri for the wedding. Everyone was in tears, including myself. It’s the special moments like this that I pinch myself every time I get to witness and document them.
The sun and humidity were relentless for their outdoor ceremony in the field but it was beautiful. Jacob and Sienna are wise beyond their years. They compliment each other in so many ways. If their vows were any indication, they simply “get” each other.
The rest of the day was a blur. The images will tell many more stories than I ever could so I’ll quit typing so you can check them out.
Sienna and Jacob, congratulations and thank you so much for allowing us to capture your summer Emerson Fields wedding.
