I had an absolute blast on Saturday afternoon for their Spring Golden Gate Canyon engagement session. We met up at the best brewery in Golden for one beer and spent over an hour catching up before we all piled into the car with their dog Koda and drove west. The park is one of my favorite places to shoot especially during the fall.
I was pleasantly surprised when Kate turned on some Lil Wayne to get herself pumped up for the shoot and we jammed all the way to Kriley Pond where we started. After being in the car for a bit Koda was especially excited to run around and show off for the camera. She even stood guard several times while I photographed her parents. Kate and Brian were complete naturals in front of the camera and I can only hope that all my couples have as much fun as they did.
We eventually drove north on Highway 119 towards the other end of the park in search of some screaming light. It didn’t last for more than 10 minutes but we were able to take advantage of the light with a killer mountain backdrop. We finished up on Gap Road and were rewarded with a cotton candy sky.
I had no idea what conditions would be like for their Spring Golden Gate Canyon engagement but I’m definitely glad we chose that location. After all the fun I had with these two I’m definitely looking forward to their fall wedding at Blackstone Rivers Ranch in Idaho Springs this September.
