I was recently in the windy city to help my friend and Chicago Wedding Photographer Travis Haughton document C and O’s Room 1520 wedding just west of Downtown. It’s definitely one of my favorite venues in Chicago like Bridgeport Art Center. I started the day with the guys at the Raffaello Hotel before we headed up to the fantastic rooftop for their first look. C looked absolutely stunning in what was possibly my favorite dress of the year and O had a huge smile on his face when he saw her.
After a few portraits around town we dodged the rain and headed west for their Room 1520 wedding ceremony. After they exchanged vows and walked down the aisle hand-in-hand I ventured up to the rooftop to scope things out. In what will be the most memorable moment of the wedding season I feasted my eyes on a spectacular double rainbow and screaming rays of sunlight illuminating the Chicago skyline. Despite the falling rain I yelled for Travis and the newly minted husband and wife to join me immediately. They obliged despite an even heavier rainfall and I’m sure glad that they did.
Thanks for allowing me to document your day. I’d definitely get drenched again to make a set of images like these.
