Mountain Views Engagement in Boulder | Melanie and Colin

I recently had the opportunity to capture Melanie and Colin’s mountain views engagement in Boulder. It’s been a while since we had a chance to connect so we grabbed a beer at Sanitas Brewing before getting started. We ironed out a few wedding details and they provided some great places to check out for an upcoming trip that Amy and I are taking.

After a few laughs we made the drive up to Gross Reservoir to start their session. It’s been on my radar for a bit and I’m glad we could experience a new place together for a few photos. The blue sky and calm water made it a great place to check out. We even managed to find the first bits of fall color for the season.

Our second stop took us to the ever popular Lost Gulch Overlook for photos just as the sun was starting to set. We took advantage of the gorgeous views before it got too busy with other visitors. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening and we can only hope we get as lucky for their wedding day.

On my drive to meet Briana and Tim for their fall engagement in Boulder I was a little concerned that the wildfire smoke would have an impact on the images. Colorado has literally been on fire for a large portion of the year. The smoke filled landscapes is a mild inconvenience compared to the homes and businesses lost in the several fires this season and we accepted it as such. I joined them and their dog at Chautauqua Park to start the session. As the sun began to set we ventured up Flagstaff Road in search of some epic views and even better light. I appreciated their adventurous mentality as they climbed up whatever I asked. Around sever bends in the road we pulled over…

  • Engagement photos in Boulder Colorado | Dimitra & George

I had so much fun photographing Dimitra and George’s engagement photos in Boulder Colorado. We met up for a a couple of tasty beverages at Eureka to celebrate before hitting all the hot spots around town. Dimitra grew up in Boulder and it meant a lot to have photos with George in her hometown. Pearl Street is one of the most popular locations in the city, which can be tough for photos but these two had a blast together as though no one else was around. After a quick outfit change we ventured over to the University of Colorado where Dimitra went to school. I’ve photographed on campus before and it always provides stunning backdrops. Varsity Lake and Old Main Chapel are some of my…
