Iconic Engagement in Denver | Mesha & Joe

My dad is a talker. So naturally when he was in the hospital for minor spine surgery a couple months ago he told the nurses and doctors all about his family. Mesha, one of his nurses, happened to be engaged and reached out to me about her and Joe’s wedding this fall. I’m grateful for the care he had while he was there and thrilled that I’ll be able to return the favor for their wedding this year.

For their engagement session we met up at Improper City, just north of downtown, to start the afternoon with a drink. Mesha and Joe have a natural, easy going chemistry that I vibe with really well. We were having such a good time that we almost didn’t want to leave.

After walking around that neighborhood we headed back to my place in LoDo for a quick change before walking to some iconic engagement locations in Denver. There was just a few minutes of sunlight left in the sky by the time we arrived at the Wynkoop Street Bridge before it ducked into the clouds. Following a final wardrobe change, we walked over to Denver’s Union Station to capture some images at the quintessential downtown location during twilight. It was pretty quiet around there that evening. The images almost have a feeling that we were there alone which is unique for such a busy place in the city.

I enjoyed spending the afternoon with them at some of Denver’s most recognizable locations for their engagement photos and can’t wait to capture their wedding in September.

Last weekend I didn’t have to travel far for Sara and Ryan’s Cheesman Park wedding. It was refreshing to walk over to the Westin where the ladies got ready while Travis drove over to their condo to start with the guys. Sara was mostly done with hair and makeup when I arrived so she was able to relax while her family got ready. The weather was a touch chilly but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky by the time the ceremony started under the pavilion at Cheesman Park. They opted not to see each other before the ceremony so there was a great moment when Sara walked down the aisle with her father. The sun poured in over the nuptials as both Ryan and Sarah…

  • Grand Hyatt wedding | Marika and Dean

It’s a great honor when a friend asks you to photograph their Denver Grand Hyatt wedding. Marika has been reminding since we were in college together that she wanted me to document the day so when she and Dean planned their Grand Hyatt Denver wedding I was grateful that she thought of me. I seem to have been adopted by the Greek Orthodox community because this wasn’t my first Greek wedding and I’m hopeful that it isn’t my last. I feel like family at every one that I do because they treat me that way. As a result, people let their guards down and I’m able to capture some great moments. The Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral is one of my favorite places to photograph…
