Engagement near Copper Mountain | Caitlin & Gavin

The fall colors hung around this year long enough for Caitlin and Gavin’s engagement near Copper Mountain. As has become commonplace, I met them for a beer at Outer Range Brewing before we got started. I love sharing my favorite brewery with clients while we chat about some of the wedding details.

After a quick stop along the Frisco bike path, we ventured over to Officers Gulch. We found some great light coming over the ridge but unfortunately the aspens along the hillside had already fallen for the year. Upper elevations had received some snow in the area so we made the drive up to Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir. The light was incredible and there wasn’t a soul in sight.

Caitlin and Gavin are getting married next summer at one of my favorite venues in all of Colorado, Arapahoe Basin, and I can’t wait.

Laura and Mack spend as much time as possible in the mountains so I knew their Shrine Pass engagement would be a ton of fun. We met up at Outer Range to catch up and have a beer before we got started. I thought that the dense smoke from the California wildfires would prevent us from seeing any of the mountains so we stopped at Officers Gulch on our way to Shrine. The water was calm and made for some lovely reflection images. Laura and Mack were so easygoing that everything felt natural throughout the entire session. We explored some new locations on Shrine Pass together that ended up paying off big time. It’s amazing what you can find when you explore of the beaten…

  • Micro Mountain Wedding in Colorado | Mel and Drew

Mel and Drew are like almost all of my couples their year. They had to postpone their big day to next year so they opted for a micro mountain wedding in Colorado’s high country said “I do” on their date. Their parents, Mel’s brother and his fiancee joined the officiant and his wife at Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir for the intimate ceremony. They had an ecstatic first look. I love their energy and love for one another and I’m not just saying that to make this blog post sound good. They are so happy together. I experienced it first hand at their fall engagement session at Maroon Bells. Amy and I had a blast with them back then and we can’t wait to get out…
