Engagement near Copper Mountain | Caitlin & Gavin

The fall colors hung around this year long enough for Caitlin and Gavin’s engagement near Copper Mountain. As has become commonplace, I met them for a beer at Outer Range Brewing before we got started. I love sharing my favorite brewery with clients while we chat about some of the wedding details.

After a quick stop along the Frisco bike path, we ventured over to Officers Gulch. We found some great light coming over the ridge but unfortunately the aspens along the hillside had already fallen for the year. Upper elevations had received some snow in the area so we made the drive up to Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir. The light was incredible and there wasn’t a soul in sight.

Caitlin and Gavin are getting married next summer at one of my favorite venues in all of Colorado, Arapahoe Basin, and I can’t wait.

  • Snowy Summit County Engagement | Nicole & Brad

Nicole and Brad recently travelled into town for a bit of planning for their wedding later this summer. While they were here I met up with them for a snowy Summit County engagement session. We started the day at Officers Gulch. It’s one of my favorite locations in the area but I hand’t photographed there in the winter. I absolutely loved Nicole’s colorful jacket. Not only did it perfectly match her personality but the color popped in the snow. We travelled over to the peninsula on Dillon Reservoir for a different view. The wind was howling so Brad gave Nicole his scarf to keep her warm. I noticed an old red barn that made for something different than everything that I captured all day. Finally…

  • Fall Mountain Engagement Photos | Holly & Hayden

The weather and fall color in the mountains is often unpredictable so it wasn’t surprising that we were rained out of our first attempt for their session. Despite more finicky weather on our second attempt, in true Colorado fashion, we experienced nearly all four seasons in one day for Holly and Hayden’s fall mountain engagement photos. Shooting during the fall colors season in the Colorado high country is my favorite so I’m glad that everything worked out for us. I had been paying attention to the fall foliage map since the color changed earlier this year because the mountains experienced a drought last winter. We met up at Outer Range Brewing for a beer before venturing over to a nearby aspen grove that was in…
