Mount Evans, known for being one of Colorado’s fourteeners, is a location for engagement photos for couples seeking breathtaking views.
You’ll experience a wide range of environmental change during the one hour drive from Idaho Springs to the top of Mount Evans. Aspen trees, mountain lakes, wild flowers and mountain goats are just some of things you may come across during an engagement session here.
The upper part of the road, from Echo Lake to the summit, typically opens around Memorial Day and closes on Labor Day. You’ll gain more than 9,000 feet in elevation from Denver so its imperative to bring lots of layers because the temperature will drop significantly along the way.
At the top you’ll experience panorama views that are hard to beat. You can see everything from the Never Summer Range to the north to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the south.

WHY WE LOVE IT
