Maxwell Falls is a secluded engagement photo location near Evergreen, Colorado that offers dense forest and a waterfall at the end of the trail.
Located about 45 minutes west of Denver, in Evergreen, Maxwell falls is a popular location for hiking with family as well as engagement photos.
From the lower trail at Maxwell Falls it’s a four mile round trip hike to the falls which is a bit much during an engagement session. However, from the upper parking lot, the waterfall is just about a half a mile away.
If you’re in love with the idea of a waterfall as a background during your session then I recommend that we start here. Then we can drive over to Alderfer Three Sisters Park and climb to the top of Brother’s Lookout for gorgeous views during golden hour.

WHY WE LOVE IT
The waterfall is beautiful but I think the area surrounding the trail is just as stunning. The sunlight always streams in through the dense forrest, creating pockets of light which is something I strive for a lot in my imagery.
