ENGAGEMENT LOCATIONS

Guanella Pass

Updated onJuly 8, 2022

Home / Engagement Locations / Colorado / Guanella Pass

Guanella Pass is an engagement photo location that features open tundra, high mountain lakes and views of Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Evans 75 minutes from Denver.

Located 25 minutes from nearby Georgetown, Guanella Pass road provides an engagement photo location with aspen trees, winding roads and wilderness. The road typically opens around Memorial Day weekend and closes mid to late November. There is ample parking and restrooms nearby.

On a quiet, weekday evening you’ll practically have the area to yourself making it an ideal mountain location for engagement photos. The lack of trees at this elevation means that the light can be spectacular in the evenings.

You could make a weekend out of your session by planning to camp when we’re done taking photos and climb Mt. Bierstadt the following day.

WHY WE LOVE IT

This is one of the more underrated locations in the high country. Fall is a great time for photos at this location because the vegetation on the tundra turns to warm orange, yellow and brown hues that contrast well with the blue sky. My fianceé, Amy, and I love to take quick camping trips near Guanella Pass and hike up to Silver Dollar Lake.

We’ll work together to make sure I’m there for all the great moments you expect, and the ones you don’t. You’ll never have to worry about planning your day around the photographer’s schedule.

Wedding collections start at $4,800, which includes:
– full day coverage with two photographers
– online image gallery for viewing and ordering
– full resolution digital images with print release
