Most Denver natives have been to the annual Taste of Colorado event at Civic Center Park but chances are you haven’t considered it for your engagement photos. The area provides plenty of background options like colorful flowers and trees to the amphitheatre and a view of Denver’s iconic cash register building. With so many options, it’s an ideal place to begin your downtown Denver engagement session.
Located in the Golden Triangle neighborhood, Civic Center Park is walkable to the State Capitol, Denver Art Museum and 16th Street Mall. It’s only a short drive away from other great Denver engagement locations like the Wynkoop Street Bridge, Larimer Square and Union Station.
The ideal time for photos here is 90 minutes before sunset because the sun falls behind the mountains and City and County building the closer you get to the posted sunset time.

On a quiet, weekday evening Civic Center Park is a hidden gem. It's close to downtown so you can have partial skyline views from the center of the park. It's a great place to begin the session and capture lots of variety before driving to LoDo for other dynamic downtown locations.
