Colorful Downtown Denver Engagement | Ewo & Henry

Last week I met up with Ewo and Henry for one of the most colorful downtown Denver engagement sessions that I’ve ever done. The light was absolutely magical from start to finish. They were in Denver recently looking at hotels to potentially host their many out of town wedding guests and stumbled upon The Ramble, which they promptly fell in love with. It was the perfect location to begin their engagement photos over a glass of wine. We chatted some about the wedding but Henry had a lovely way of constantly keeping Ewo laughing so I of course had to make a few photos. The bar was busy, hip and an excellent location to share a cocktail with someone you adore, like these two.

We later headed over to my neighborhood, LoDo, for the rest of the evening. Even though I’ve been to the Wynkoop Street Bridge countless times, the light is always different and on this day it was golden and intense. Ewo’s long red dress popped wonderfully in the scene and Henry looked equally dapper in one of his suits. After a quick change back at my loft we walked over to Denver Union Station just as twilight was talking shape. Ewo wore another stunning dress that sparkled and was great to photograph. I had such a blast with them that we toasted the evening over another drink at my place before calling it a night. I can’t wait for their wedding at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science later this summer.

  • Downtown Denver engagement | Amanda & Cuyler

When I met up with Amanda and Cuyler at Union Station for their downtown Denver engagement session we had such an amazing time, we spent almost two hours at Terminal Bar drinking. Time flies by when there are thirty amazing Colorado craft beers on tap, outstanding atmosphere and three funny people trying to one up each other. Amanda is a nurse and Cuyler works for the Copper Mountain Fire Department so they do a lot for other people and rightfully so I wanted them to have a great time and not rush straight into shooting. As a couple, they have a blast traveling and skiing together which makes sense because Cuyler proposed on the top of the mountain. Despite not being natives, they have definitely…

  • Lookout Mountain engagement photos | Melanie and Nick

I was excited when Melanie and Nick asked me to shoot their Lookout Mountain engagement photos near Golden, Colorado. Usually when I’m on top of Lookout Mountain my heart rate is north of 160bpm because I’m riding my bike with friends to Buffalo Bill’s grave at the top. It’s a popular route and training ride for hundreds of road cyclists every single day. We started in Golden along the river before heading up the mountain. The road offers some great views of downtown Golden and even Denver along the way but I wanted to capture the essence of the long, winding curves and the evergreen trees near the upper half. A storm was moving in quickly and we were able to take advantage of the…
