Golden Gate Canyon State Park Engagement | Paige & Adam

Golden Gate Canyon State Park Engagement | Paige & Adam

Paige and Adam have been looking forward to the fall colors for their Golden Gate Canyon State Park engagement since I met with them earlier this year. We had another location picked out initially but the early season snow forced us to change dates and locations. It all worked out in the end because their session was full of screaming sunlight and yellow aspen trees. I shot another fall colors engagement in the park earlier this month but the trees had only begun to change. We met up at Cannonball Creek Brewing and after they downed some liquid courage they jumped in my car and we drove up the canyon road in search of some epic locations. Before we could even get into the park we…

Jefferson Park Engagement | Angie & Chris

Jefferson Park Engagement | Angie & Chris

Chris and I had mutual friends in high school and we’re sure we had a beverage or two together at some point so it made sense to start their Jefferson Park engagement at a brewery. Angie and Chris live in the up and coming neighborhood which features a couple of great restaurants as well as Briar Common Brewery, where we started. We chatted over a couple of hoppy beers outside in the sunlight and it was so good that we almost ordered a second round. They live just down the street so we walked over to pick up their cattle dog mix, Ella. She tried her best to contain her excitement in front of the camera but couldn’t help it. Part of me thinks she knew exactly how…

Fall Riverside Wedding | Mallory & Daniel

Fall Riverside Wedding | Mallory & Daniel

Mallory and Daniel’s September Snowmass Cottages wedding last weekend was the prefect representation of their personalities, style and love for Colorado. Daniel enjoys fly fishing and the two of them fell in love with the venue after spending so much time in the area. It has been a busy seven months for Mallory’s parents Richard and Janice as they watched all three of their daughters get married in 2017. During his opening remarks, Richard made sure to note that his only reservation about the cottages was that it was “quite a schlep” from Denver (and the East coast) but after seeing the whole day come together he felt nothing but joy. I knew that their wedding would be fantastic to experience and photograph because their…

Fall Golden Engagement | Coza & Joel

Fall Golden Engagement | Coza & Joel

As fall approaches, it was still quite warm for Coza and Joel’s fall Golden engagement photos last week. The higher temperatures have prevented the trees at lower elevations from changing into all their gorgeous hues yet. We were determined to find some color for their session though because like myself, they’re also Colorado natives and fall colors are a great aspect of the state. They have a ton of fun together and are self proclaimed nerds like myself so we had a fantastic time during their session. Joel is so sweet to Coza and she deserves it because she’s a teacher. I have so much respect for that profession and as my dad says, “it’s the most overworked, under paid position in America.” We met up at Cannonball Creek Brewing for…

Breckenridge fall colors engagement photos | Shabnam & Joseph

Breckenridge fall colors engagement photos | Shabnam & Joseph

Shabnam and Joseph are some of the most intelligent, compassionate people that I have met in recent memory so I wanted to do something special for their session. They recently moved to Denver for medical residency and hadn’t had a chance to check out much of Colorado so they suggested that I choose a location. Since they hadn’t been to the mountains before and the leaves were changing I suggested we drive west to shoot their Breckenridge fall colors engagement photos. Boreas Pass is one of my favorite places to shoot so I knew we would end up there but with the weather being unpredictable we started at Gold Hill Trailhead just outside of town. My girlfriend Amy joined me to help hold umbrellas, coats…

Chicago Loft Wedding | David & Emmet

Chicago Loft Wedding | David & Emmet

Earlier this summer I traveled to the Windy City for David and Emmet’s Chicago Loft Wedding at the Bridgeport Art Center’s Skyline Loft. Working alongside Chicago Wedding Photographer Travis, we’ve photographed several of the loft venues in the city and Bridgeport is among our favorite. Typically we start separately but since David and Emmet got dressed together it was a team effort from the start. The room was fool of energy as their sisters joined them to help put the finishing touches on their looks and celebrate with a bottle of champagne. There obviously wasn’t a first look so we all jumped into a SUV and drove to a couple different locations for portraits with the two of them. We all had a lot of…

LoDo Denver Engagement Photos | Danielle & Jordan

LoDo Denver Engagement Photos | Danielle & Jordan

Danielle and Jordan are two incredible human beings and extremely busy people so I was glad that we were able to schedule their LoDo Denver engagement photos during the 24-hours that Jordan was in town to help Danielle move. Danielle is finishing her PsyD and Jordan is a medical resident in Chicago so they spend most of their time helping others. I spent a little extra time with them hitting some of their favorite locations downtown on Thursday evening. I’ve shot downtown Denver engagement photos before so I have a good sense of the area. When Danielle suggested The Curtis Club for their first date almost two years ago September she did so because it was close to her place and provided easy access to escape if the…

Colorful Engagement Photos in the mountains | Mallory and Daniel

Colorful Engagement Photos in the mountains | Mallory and Daniel

Colorado is known for breathtaking views in the Rocky Mountains and the scenery didn’t disappoint for Mallory and Daniel’s Georgetown and Loveland Pass Engagement Photos earlier this week. Daniel actually proposed to Mallory after one of her piano concerts near the Georgetown Loop Railroad so I was excited to photograph them in a location that meant a lot to both of them. I truly believe that the more meaningful the location for an engagement session, the better the images can be. I typically start things off at a bar so everyone can loosen up but since we were chasing light I opted to bring them some beers in a cooler so they could enjoy them during the session. Mallory and Daniel didn’t need any liquid courage and…

Royal Oak Engagement Photos | Erica & Cody

Royal Oak Engagement Photos | Erica & Cody

Last week I was in Michigan to photograph a wedding in the Detroit area with Travis and while I was there we met up with his brother Cody and future sister-in-law Erica for their Royal Oak engagement photos. Next spring Travis will be part of their big day, but on the opposite side of the camera as the best man. I on the other hand will be photographing the wedding. I always encourage couples to shoot engagement photos with me so that they can become comfortable in front of the camera and know what to expect when I photograph their wedding so it made sense for me to join Travis to capture some portraits to celebrate their engagement. Cody is a PGA pro at Red…

Fort Collins Wedding | Courtney and Noah

Fort Collins Wedding | Courtney and Noah

Last Saturday I was fortunate enough to photograph Courtney and Noah’s Fort Collins wedding. From the moment that I met with them last fall I knew that it would be a great day because they each appreciated photography so much and provided me the trust that I need to make great pictures. The energy was high from the moment that I walked into the room with Courtney and her “Brosmaids” as they listened to Janet Jackson’s greatest hits on blast while dancing non-stop, only stopping for the obligatory hair and makeup process. Noah on the other hand was calm and collected next door while Travis photographed him and the rest of the guys getting ready. We all made our way to the Spring Creek Trail…
