TenMile Station Wedding in Breckenridge | Sharon & Nick

TenMile Station Wedding in Breckenridge | Sharon & Nick

I can confidently say that Sharon and Nick’s TenMile Station wedding in Breckenridge was one of my favorites of all time. We were welcomed with open arms from the moment we walked in the door by each of their families and that feeling didn’t change the entire day. I had a feeling that it was going to be a spectacular day because I had a blast shooting their engagement photos in Golden Gate Canyon State Park earlier in the week. TenMile Station is one of the best mountain wedding venues in Colorado thanks to spectacular views, amazing service and its proximity to the charming town of Breckenridge. Located on Peak 9 of the Breckenridge Ski Resort, the ceremony site looks out towards Boreas Pass and the…

Colorful engagement in Golden Gate Canyon State Park | Sharon & Nick

Colorful engagement in Golden Gate Canyon State Park | Sharon & Nick

Sharon and Nick’s colorful engagement in Golden Gate Canyon State Park near Golden, Colorado was an absolute stunner. These two were complete naturals in front of the camera and had a blast together throughout the entire session. Combine that with two hours of screaming light in the park and this is a session I won’t soon forget. They live in Kansas City and are getting married this week at TenMile Station in Breckenridge so I was glad that they were able to find some time for their engagement session between everything else that they have going on. They visit Colorado a lot so they were excited to shoot in the park outside of Golden which is quickly becoming one of my favorite engagement locations to take couples….

Engagement photos in Boulder Colorado | Dimitra & George

Engagement photos in Boulder Colorado | Dimitra & George

I had so much fun photographing Dimitra and George’s engagement photos in Boulder Colorado. We met up for a a couple of tasty beverages at Eureka to celebrate before hitting all the hot spots around town. Dimitra grew up in Boulder and it meant a lot to have photos with George in her hometown. Pearl Street is one of the most popular locations in the city, which can be tough for photos but these two had a blast together as though no one else was around. After a quick outfit change we ventured over to the University of Colorado where Dimitra went to school. I’ve photographed on campus before and it always provides stunning backdrops. Varsity Lake and Old Main Chapel are some of my…

Crooked Willow Farms Wedding | Danielle & Jordan

Crooked Willow Farms Wedding | Danielle & Jordan

Danielle and Jordan’s Crooked Willow Farms wedding in Larkspur was full of the rustic charm that you would expect from a gorgeous Colorado barn venue. The cold and rainy weather forced us inside for most of the day and while every wedding has it’s challenges and I was throughly impressed at how Danielle, Jordan and their families didn’t let anything stop them from going on with the show. Danielle looked absolutely gorgeous and was enthusiastic throughout the day. Jordan was calm and collected but lit up when he saw Danielle for their first look. Their LoDo engagement session was a stunner so I wasn’t surprised that they brought the same energy to their wedding day. After witnessing their incredible vows in person it’s clear that they bring out the absolute…

Spring Engagement in Downtown Denver | Katie & Joel

Spring Engagement in Downtown Denver | Katie & Joel

When I met Katie and Joel last fall we ended up cracking open one of my favorite beers, Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout, out of my cellar which is always a good sign. We naturally met up at a brewery to catch up before starting their spring engagement in downtown Denver. They’re new to Denver and open to whatever so I suggested that we have a pint at Ratio Brewing in RiNo since the area has lots of colorful backdrops for the start of the day. After walking a few blocks around the neighborhood we drove over to my place so they could change and I opened up a couple more tasty beers for all of us to share. I’ve lived in LoDo for the past six years which…

Evergreen Engagement | Hannah & James

Evergreen Engagement | Hannah & James

Hannah and James are fellow Colorado natives and love the outdoors so I was excited that they wanted to venture to a couple of new locations for their Evergreen engagement session. We met up at the Maxwell Falls trailhead, enjoyed some Jack and Cokes (their favorite) and played with their new Australian Shepard puppy Rey. She was having a blast tromping in the snow and even managed to sit still for a couple photos which wasn’t an easy task. James’ mother took the dog with her back to the city so that Hannah, James and I could continue searching out interesting locations and pockets of light in the forest. The trail was a little to muddy to make it all the way to the falls…

Spring Golden Gate Canyon Engagement | Kate & Brian

Spring Golden Gate Canyon Engagement | Kate & Brian

I had an absolute blast on Saturday afternoon for their Spring Golden Gate Canyon engagement session. We met up at the best brewery in Golden for one beer and spent over an hour catching up before we all piled into the car with their dog Koda and drove west. The park is one of my favorite places to shoot especially during the fall. I was pleasantly surprised when Kate turned on some Lil Wayne to get herself pumped up for the shoot and we jammed all the way to Kriley Pond where we started. After being in the car for a bit Koda was especially excited to run around and show off for the camera. She even stood guard several times while I photographed her…

Elk Meadow Park Winter Engagement | Melissa & Jordan

Elk Meadow Park Winter Engagement | Melissa & Jordan

Last weekend I met Melissa and Jordan near her hometown of Evergreen for their Elk Meadow Park winter engagement. We grabbed a quick drink over at Evergreen Brewery before driving across the street to the park. Despite the cold and windy conditions we had a blast tromping around in the snow before the sun fell behind the mountain. Jordan enjoys hunting this time of the year so he was accustomed to the chilly temperatures. It was a gorgeous area so I can see Melissa was keen to shoot in familiar surroundings. These two have an adorable connection together and once you spend some time with them you can see how well they compliment each other. Melissa’s outgoing personality is infectious and definitely rubs off on him. Jordan and…

Room 1520 Wedding | Chicago

Room 1520 Wedding | Chicago

I was recently in the windy city to help my friend and Chicago Wedding Photographer Travis Haughton document C and O’s Room 1520 wedding just west of Downtown. It’s definitely one of my favorite venues in Chicago like Bridgeport Art Center. I started the day with the guys at the Raffaello Hotel before we headed up to the fantastic rooftop for their first look. C looked absolutely stunning in what was possibly my favorite dress of the year and O had a huge smile on his face when he saw her. After a few portraits around town we dodged the rain and headed west for their Room 1520 wedding ceremony. After they exchanged vows and walked down the aisle hand-in-hand I ventured up to the rooftop to scope things…

Cheesman Park Wedding | Sara & Ryan

Cheesman Park Wedding | Sara & Ryan

Last weekend I didn’t have to travel far for Sara and Ryan’s Cheesman Park wedding. It was refreshing to walk over to the Westin where the ladies got ready while Travis drove over to their condo to start with the guys. Sara was mostly done with hair and makeup when I arrived so she was able to relax while her family got ready. The weather was a touch chilly but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky by the time the ceremony started under the pavilion at Cheesman Park. They opted not to see each other before the ceremony so there was a great moment when Sara walked down the aisle with her father. The sun poured in over the nuptials as both Ryan and Sarah…
